How to read the estimate you just got

The number the estimator returns is a weekly and monthly range in 2026 Houston market rates for the service level and hours you selected. It is designed to be honest — no lowball headline rate to draw you into a sales call, no hidden minimums, no assumption that everything will run at the lowest end of the range. Companion care in Houston runs $30 to $40 per hour, personal care $35 to $45, dementia care $38 to $48, 24-hour rotating $650 to $850 per day, live-in $450 to $650 per day. Where in the range a specific plan lands depends on the acuity of the client, whether the schedule requires nights or weekends or a same-day pickup, and the neighbourhood we are staffing from.

The most important thing this estimator does not do is tell you what you will actually pay out of pocket. That number depends on whether the client carries a long-term care insurance policy (roughly one in four of our Houston clients does), whether the client or their spouse is a wartime-era veteran eligible for VA Aid & Attendance (up to $2,795 a month in 2026), whether a workers’ compensation or auto liability claim is available to cover a work-injury or motor-vehicle recovery, or whether the family income- and asset-qualifies for Texas Medicaid STAR+PLUS. For a $200-per-day LTCI policy alone, roughly $6,000 a month of the estimate above is offset before you write a check. A Care Manager works through those sources with you at no charge on the first call.

Once you have the ballpark you probably want a real written quote. That comes out of a free in-home consultation with a Care Manager — usually within 48 hours across our Galleria, River Oaks, Memorial, Tanglewood, West University, Bellaire, Medical Center, and The Woodlands territory. The Care Manager meets the person, walks the home, and writes an itemised plan and quote covering hours, days, caregiver profile, safety changes, and the payer path we recommend. The plan and quote are yours whether you hire us or not; many families use them as a second opinion when comparing agencies. There is no obligation, no follow-up sales sequence, and no cost.
