From that call we schedule a free in-home consultation, usually within 48 hours across our Energy Corridor territory. The Care Manager walks the home, meets the client and the family, and drafts a written care plan — hours, days, caregiver profile, safety changes, and the payer path (private pay, long-term care insurance, VA Aid & Attendance, or Medicaid STAR+PLUS if the family is dual-eligible). The plan and the written quote are yours whether you hire us or not; families use them as a second opinion even when they choose another agency.
First shifts typically start within one to five days after the consultation, sooner for a hospital discharge or an emergency situation. Every respite care case has an assigned Care Manager who reviews the plan quarterly at minimum, and any time the situation shifts — a hospital admission, a new medication, a fall, a change in mobility, a change in family circumstances. The caregiver you meet on day one is the caregiver you see on day thirty, and same-face continuity is one of the things we measure and report to the family every month.
